ABOUT LISA CAMPBELL

Lisa Campbell is an innovative Media Consultant, Marketing Technologist and New Media Developer.   For most of her career, she’s been telling stories, working in Atlanta, Miami, Washington DC, and other major markets as a News Anchor and Producer.   She is now fusing ‘the medias’, new and traditional, to spread IDEAS. 

Campbell left the ‘daily news’ business to tell the stories of companies, nonprofits and entrepreneurs.  An entrepreneur by nature, she’s owned several businesses including ThePRDesignGroup (PR agency), the Urban Tea Party (a teahouse, gallery and gathering place) and Campbell & Co. (an Ideation Company).  She’s done voicework for film companies, produced publicity and promotions for King World (The Oprah Winfrey Show) and worked as an Account Executive for AdWerksInk and The Nathan Group, (advertising agencies). 

Today, she spends her time consulting, producing docuMEDIA film shorts, and touting the new rules of marketing and PR - and how ideas now spread online.  Campbell has recently launched the Create Yourself Company, a personal development consortium, that’s helping people find new purpose and passion to Re:Create their lives.

She’s become a highly sought keynote speaker, and teaches full-day workshops for companies, nonprofits, and government clients worldwide.

The quote (above) has become my mantra  – since I made the decision to re:create my life. I have been a very successful News Anchor for 25 years, in Atlanta for 17 of them, producing, writing and anchoring the evening news at top rated CNN affiliate (WSB), guiding a team of reporters and creating good presentations of the days events. It can be a disillusioning experience after a while though, as my job, which I loved, I felt, became a misrepresentation of what the world and our society really was.

SO without a job, a prospect, a trust fund or any significant savings, a mortgage, and a daughter who likes nice shoes, I quit my career to find – myself.

 The gift of two years that I gave myself, was cathartic and interesting in ways that I’d never have imagined. For one thing, I had a moment to be Lisa Campbell's, Lisa Campbell. It introduced me to – myself. I’d been too busy to meet me.

I took the time to be still. It’s really hard to do. I rode my road bike -- for hours, with the wind in my face. I met other worlds in our society that I’d never been exposed to. There are people hurting. I’ve volunteered. And know that by giving we get. I have had a chance to DREAM. And now after a lifetime in incubation, LisaCampbell MEDIA, ..a Communications and Understanding Project is born.
